BEREA COLLEGE BCM

The Baptist Campus Ministry at Berea College, Berea, KY, was reinstated for the 2013-2014 school year.  After defunding in 2012 by the Kentucky Baptist Convention, it was a dormant organization in 2012-2013.

The Tates Creek Association assisted Baptist students of the college to reinstate the ministry beginning with 2013-2014 school year.  The TCBA has called and commissioned Julie Dalton to serve as the BCM Campus Missionary.

The BCM, Berea College, meets each Monday night at the former BCM Ministry Building on the campus of Berea Baptist Church.  Berea Baptist Church is providing the facility rent free for this campus ministry.

Berea College Baptist Campus Ministry Objectives are:

1.       Engage every student of Berea College with the Gospel of Jesus Christ

2.       Connect Berea College students with local churches

3.       Provide Berea College students with ongoing discipleship activities

4.       Provide Berea College students with Acts 1:8 and Great Commission

        service opportunities

5.       The BCM, Berea The BCM, Berea Provide Berea College students with

        fellowship opportunities

Josh is a student at Boyce College, the undergraduate program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is pastor of Wallaceton Baptist Church in Berea, and is an AmeriCorps member at Madison Southern High

School.  Josh's passion is to help college students answer the difficult questions that arise during this unique time in their lives.  As a student, he has focused on Apologetics and Philosophy, and connects well with Berea College students on these levels. He strives to see college students understand that they are not the "church of tomorrow," but are vital to the ministry and life of the local church today.

Josh enjoys watching sports, especially the University of Kentucky Wildcats, the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and anything baseball (except the Yankees - unless they're losing).

Josh met his wife Brittany on a mission trip in Jacksonville, Florida. They were married in 2008 and are expecting their first child (Jonathan David) in early March of 2016.

Baptist Campus Ministry at Eastern Kentucky University exists to reach students with the gospel of Jesus Christ, connect them to a local church community, and disciple them toward spiritual maturity. We achieve these purposes through various events and the relationships we build with college students. We seek to provide a place where students can be known and encouraged during their collegiate years. This includes things like small group Bible studies, large social events, worship and trips during the year. We desire that students have a meaningful and rewarding college experience full of personal and spiritual growth.

The EKU BCM is open Monday—Friday from 9:00 a.m.—11:00 p.m.  We close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays to encourage students to be plugged into a local church.

There are several ways TCBA churches can support the EKU BCM.
         -  Prayer!

         -  Providing meals throughout the year at different events

Financially supporting us monthly or perhaps a one time gift.   All of our year long programming comes from local TCBA churches.

         -  From time to time, we'll have some light construction projects that need to be done in our building.

         -  Your presence and willingness to be involved in the lives of college students (being a mentor, leading a Bible Study, adopting a student, etc.)
