Our Staff
Director of Missions: Danny Davis
Danny became our Director of Missions in October 2015. Prior to that, he was a pastor for 30 years, serving Southern Baptist churches in Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.
A native of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Danny is a graduate of The University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg (Bachelor of Science in History/ Political Science and Business Administration), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina (Master of Divinity), and Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina (Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Theology).
Danny is married to his high school sweetheart Sandy, also a Williamsburg native. They have one son who lives in Washington D.C. with his wife and daughter (the only grandchild!). Danny and Sandy also share their home with a sweet pooch named Chloe, which Danny has officially dubbed Tates Creek's "DOM" (Dog of Missions).

Secretary: Marie Wing
Former Mission Service Corp (MSC) Missionary, Manager of Tates Creek and Rockcastle Baptist Associations Food Warehouse in Berea, Clerk of TCBA, Former Pastor’s wife, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Marie has three grown children, four grandchildren, twin great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.

Moderator: James Hardin
Bro. James Hardin was ordained in 2009 beginning his first pastorate calling at Freedom Baptist Church. He would serve this body of believers for three years and move to become the interim and later called as the pastor for Union City Baptist Church. Currently he is serving as the Interim Pastor at Clarkesville Baptist Church in Richmond. He has been on the mission fields of Benin, Botswana and Ghana Africa, David Panama and Mexico. Having worked on Various Committees throughout his tenure, he is currently the moderator for the Tates Creek Baptist Association.

Missions Growth Team Leader: Greg Lakes
Pastor of Pilot Knob Baptist Church since 2010. Also serves as Tates Creek Baptist Association's International Partnership Leader. Former IMB Missionary to South Africa and Pastor of Valley Baptist Church, Rockcastle Association. Currently a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) working on MDiv. Married to Dellena and father to Logan, Alyssa and Eli.
Leadership Development Team Leader: Dr. Deron Cobb
After years of ministry in Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee, Pastor Deron’s journey has brought him home to central Kentucky, where his family roots run deep. His grandparents grew up on opposite sides of the Kentucky River; his grandmother on the Madison County side and his grandfather in Jessamine County. He received his Master of Divinity from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctorate from Covington Theological Seminary. His wife, Bonita is an Educational Therapist and a pastor’s daughter. They have a daughter, Joanna, and two sons, Joshua and Joseph. Pastor Deron enjoys reading, sports, and spending time with his family.
Church Development and Evangelism Team Leader: Kenny Davis
Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church since 2000, prior to being called as Bethel’s pastor Kenny served as Minister of Education and Evangelism at Silver Creek Baptist church.
Serves as a board member of the following ministries Kentucky Men of Integrity and Heritage Ministries of Kentucky.
Has served on short term missions teams five times to Africa and four times to Panama, has traveled to the Gulf Coast 13 times since hurricane Katrina doing relief and rebuild work.
He and his wife Lisa have 2 children and 2 granddaughters.
WMU Team Leader: Sandi McDowell
Sandi has been active in missions since she was a member of the Sunbeams as a child. From there she was involved in GA’s, Acteens, and Baptist Women, both as a member and later as a leader. God has combined the love of missions and the love of travel to enable and equip Sandi to participate in and lead mission trips to Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, Russia and Hungary.
Sandi has participated in and led Women’s Ministry programs and facilitated many Bible studies.
She and her husband Richard are members of First Baptist Richmond where they enjoy singing in the choir and participating in its various ministries.
